Miracle 04:04
Miracle I am ready, to be vulnerable I am ready to finally let go I want to be annoyingly in love I want let me guard down I want to step out on faith I want to dance out in the rain I need to quit running away ‘cause I’m always on the first train When an old bag lady waiting on the red line On the Northeast side Looked dead in my eyes and cried I said “You Good?” And she sighed, then replied Hook: Your miracle is waiting on you But it can’t come ‘til you’re ready So baby what you gon’ do? (repeat) I am ready to take a chance on life I am ready to look silly at times, Pride aside I want to be childishly optimistic Live my life unscripted I want to step out on faith I want to dance out in the rain I want to quit running away ‘cause I’m always on the first train When an old bag lady waiting on the red line On the Northeast side Looked dead in my eyes and cried I said “You Good?” And she sighed, then replied Hook: Your miracle is waiting on you But it can’t come ‘til you’re ready So baby what you gon’ do? You’re worth it You’re perfect You deserve it Quite searching You’re worth it You’re perfect You deserve it Quite searching (Repeat 2X) Quit searching on the outside You’ll find your miracle in the right time Make room in your life Won’t you make room in your life Your miracle is waiting on you

Never Bring Me Down Lyrics by Maimouna Youssef Verse 1: I'm tired of all the fake love from ya'll fronting like you want to see me win but really trying to do me in Get under my skin, cuz you resent my confidence You’d rather see me broken, ‘cuz I ain’t ego stroking Nah, I'm a Brazen Heifer yeah I'm a Bad Mutha I grow in the shade You don' gon' and made a monster I'm not what you’re used to I got that black girl Juju Back water Track slaughter Swagger when I move through Edges stay fleeky Sneaker game squeaky Serving Nefertiti In that Fresh Dashiki You fragile boys are jealous of women I bet you dressing up in my clothes I left in the kitchen , ‘hate to see me winning, scared of my light, don’t want to let me shine cuz I’m the genuine article, I’m a one of a kind But you love a mediocre chick You place her neck to neck with me I swear I’ll choke a chick You weak broads make it hard to gain leverage Exchanging brain for deals but I ain’t having none of it The ground I put them under it You wouldn’t last a day in my stilettos Melanin Kisses Genuine Thickness I was made in the ghetto See Normally I don’t talk like this But dudes be thinking they running this And that’s wonderous I ain’t gonna be finished ‘til I’m done with it I told you I was good for the culture When I’m winning, we all winning But you pretending you vulture Don’t even raise your black fist up When you see me in the streets don’t even dap me up You uncle Ruckas Master lovers need a Samuel L Jack back slap Yeah I’m talking that / Jango The way we let them thangs go Don’t want that pie in the sky, I need my cake on my plate Short me my fries, I'm gonna get out the gate You stay trying to put me in my place But I’m already here A self-aware black woman is your worst fear. 2nd verse: Hear me well, I love my brothers I give you all your propers But don’t be mad at me ‘cuz I’m a show stopper Yeah I’m a jaw dropper Flyer than a helicopter Read you like a teleprompter But I’ll never tell a cop’a I’m a boss, no bitch suffix is necessary I’m Very hard body like Chevy I’m colder than January Hold all of your commentary Don’t need no more promissories I told you that you ain’t ready A Lot of men can’t deal with women of my caliber If you can’t control her, bone her, own her then you mad at her I walk by smelling like ylang ylang and lavender But my body is mine sir, go and get a cavalier How much do I own you for what’s already mine, Shit, I earned it I worked hard for every damn dime, Only concerned with My money being brought on time, And when the revolution popping off, I’m on front line Sometimes being a woman is like being black twice I Gotta scream fire instead of rape And you tell me act nice Look pretty Stay slim Don’t talk loud Don’t think Don’t feel Don’t act proud But if I’m at my lowest, how are you 100 percent? God made women and man for the balance of it So will the real men please stand up And defend what God made signing off with love Will the real men please stand up and defend what God made signing off with love!

about

Vintage Babies is the title of the collaborative album and super group created by Grammy nominated singer, songwriter, and MC, Maimouna Youssef aka Mumu Fresh and producer, Dj, and musical director Dj Dummy The Genius collectively known as The Vintage Babies. The Vintage Babies’ album consists of 17 soul and hip hop head bangers and features musical greats like Grammy & Oscar award winning Common, as well as some incredible songwriting and vocal help from Top Dawg’s own SIR, Malik Yusef , and Baltimore’s Rose Gold from the Polly seeds.

Vintage Babies is a Revival of the Soul, Funk, & Gospel sounds that Hip hop was founded on. The aim of Vintage Babies is celebrate the resilience and power of the human spirit through the utilization of the soulful sounds that have gotten us through difficult times in our history and will surely continue to do so for years to come. Vintage Babies will pull on an array of emotional strings sending you into lucid euphoric dance states in one moment then transition you into deep thought provoking storytelling about the state of humanity in the next moment with a little comic relief in between.
This is not the first time Dj Dummy and Maimouna Youssef have collaborated. They have toured together for several years with Rapper/Actor Common and in 2014 they released a mixtape together entitled the Reintroduction of Mumu Fresh. Dj Dummy and Maimouna Youssef aka Mumu Fresh are not new to the music scene but if your ears are new to the sounds they’ve been creating and curating for almost a decade then check out their track records.

Dj Dummy has been J Cole’s DJ and on tour Music Direct since 2010 and Common’s DJ and Music Director since 1999. He started out djing at the age of 7 and by 14 he was winning prestigious dj battles in NYC like the Zulu Nation Battle (96) ad American DMC Battle (98). Since then he has both dj’ed and/or created stage shows for artists like Talibe Kewli, Kanye West, Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, & De La Soul among others. He has even graced the halls of the prestigious venue affectionately known as The White House per request of 44th President Barack Obama. Dj Dummy is no newbee to the scene but he is just getting started in terms of making a name for himself as a worldwide producer and Vintage Babies is just the beginning.
His talents have attracted many of hip-hop’s premier artists, throughout the years; he has worked closely on creating stage shows and/or DJing concerts all over the world, for the likes of J Cole, Alicia Keys, Queen Latifah, Common, Talib Kweli, Kanye West, Music Soulchild, Mos Def, De La Soul, A+, DMX, Onyx, Smoothe The Hustler, going all the way back to Group Home.
DJ Dummy’s almost 20 year career has seen him electrify numerous clubs, tour internationally and entertained clients such as Prince, LeBron James and Venus Williams. It has seen him DJ in the smallest clubs in Brooklyn, to performing at the White House for President Obama. He has formed unbreakable professional relationships with many iconic artists in the industry and he’s been a part of historic moments in Hip-Hop. And this is only the beginning of DJ Dummy’s legacy, so it’s safe to say, you can certainly learn a lot from a dummy.
